Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

These terms of service govern the use of the website, training programs, lab environments, and certification exams offered by Spartan Cybersecurity (collectively, the "Service"), including our hands-on platform Spartan Labs. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

01Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website, registering on our platform, or enrolling in any of our training programs, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms of service in their entirety. If you access on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

02Description of Services

Spartan Cybersecurity offers training programs in offensive and defensive cybersecurity, including online courses, isolated and sandboxed hands-on lab environments, walkthroughs, written and video learning materials, practical certification exams, and digital credentials. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the services at any time when reasonably necessary to evolve, secure, or maintain the platform.

03Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, to register and use our services. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

04User Accounts

To access certain services you will need to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your access credentials, protecting your second factor when enabled, and for all activity that occurs under your account, even if performed by another person. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security incident. We reserve the right to suspend or cancel accounts that violate these terms.

05User Conduct

You agree to use the services only for lawful purposes. You will not: (i) use the services to violate the rights of any person or entity, or engage in fraud, harassment, or discrimination; (ii) attempt to access systems, accounts, networks, or data outside the boundaries explicitly authorized within each lab; (iii) share, resell, sublicense, lend, rent, or transfer your account or credentials; (iv) use bots, scrapers, or any automated technique to extract content, exam questions, flags, or solutions; (v) interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to overload the infrastructure or other users' sessions; (vi) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the services, except where permitted by mandatory law; or (vii) upload or distribute malware outside the dedicated lab environments designed for that purpose.

06Lab Environments and Ethical Use

Lab environments are isolated, monitored, and intended exclusively for educational use. They simulate vulnerable infrastructure so you can develop offensive, defensive, and forensic skills under controlled conditions. When using the labs you specifically agree to: attack only the targets explicitly assigned within each lab scope; never use techniques, payloads, or knowledge acquired through the platform against any system, network, application, or data without prior, explicit, written authorization from its legitimate owner; never extract, exfiltrate, publish, or distribute proprietary tooling, malware samples, lab artifacts, or exploit code outside the lab environment; respect compute, network, and storage quotas, and refrain from cryptomining or any non-educational workload; and acknowledge that lab activity is logged for security, abuse prevention, and learning analytics. Spartan Cybersecurity is not responsible for any unauthorized, illegal, or unethical use of techniques learned through the service. Misuse may result in immediate termination and referral to law enforcement.

07Certifications and Exam Integrity

Certification exams are individual, time-bound assessments. To preserve the value of every credential you agree to: complete the exam by yourself, without external assistance, unless explicitly permitted by the exam rules; not share, publish, leak, or distribute exam content, flags, write-ups, or solutions in any form, including private chats, repositories, or video recordings; use only the resources permitted by each specific exam policy; and submit results that genuinely reflect your own work. Any breach of exam integrity may result in immediate disqualification, voiding of the certification, removal of issued credentials, permanent ban from the platform, and notification to relevant industry bodies. We reserve the right to revoke any credential found to have been obtained through fraud.

08Payments and Refunds

Some products require payment, including individual courses, lab access, and certification exams. Our courses are sold as a one-time payment: you pay once, with no automatic renewal and no recurring charges. By placing an order you agree to pay all applicable fees, taxes, and currency conversion charges. If a product is expressly offered as a subscription, this will be stated clearly before purchase and you will be charged at the start of each billing cycle until you cancel it; subscriptions taken out before this update remain in force under the terms accepted at the time until they are cancelled. Refund policy: you may request a full refund within 30 calendar days of purchase, provided you have not activated your lab access and have not started the certification exam. Once the lab is activated or the exam is started, the purchase is considered consumed and is non-refundable. We reserve the right to deny refund requests that show evidence of abuse. Prices, plans, and promotions may change at any time; changes will not affect orders already confirmed. The refund period runs from the date of purchase and is independent of the activation period: it is not extended by not having activated the lab.

09Access Validity: Activation, Lab, and Exam

Courses that include a lab are delivered with deferred activation: your purchase grants you a period to activate your environment, and the lab clock starts on the day you activate it, not on the day you pay. The activation period and the lab duration are stated on the product page before purchase, repeated in your confirmation email, and locked in at the time of payment: a later change to the catalog does not alter what you already bought. If you do not activate your lab within the activation period, your access expires in full —lab and exam— with no right to a refund, extension, or compensation. The certification exam can be taken from the day of purchase, without activating the lab; its window ends on the later of these two dates: the last day of your activation period, or the exam period stated on the product page counted from the last day of your lab. The periods that apply to your purchase are always shown in your Spartan Labs dashboard.

10Intellectual Property

All content available through our services — including courses, videos, written materials, lab environments, source code, exercises, exam content, design, brand, logos, and credentials — is owned by or licensed to Spartan Cybersecurity and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the content solely for your own non-commercial educational purposes. No other rights are granted by implication or otherwise.

11Third-Party Services

The services rely on trusted third-party providers, including identity and infrastructure providers, hosting and edge security providers, our content management system, and payment processors. Their use is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service that integrates with, links to, or is referenced by our services.

12Limitation of Liability

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that completion of any course or exam guarantees employment, third-party recognition of credentials, or specific learning outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spartan Cybersecurity, its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, revenue, business, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the services shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD 100).

13Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Spartan Cybersecurity, its directors, employees, and partners from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the services, your violation of these terms, your misuse of any technique or knowledge acquired through the platform, or your infringement of third-party rights.

14Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to our services at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, abused lab resources, or compromised the security or integrity of the platform. We may also discontinue all or part of the services for legitimate business reasons. Upon termination, your right to use the services ceases immediately, and provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law will survive.

15Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the services shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Bogotá, Colombia, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

16Modifications to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on our website. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email at least 15 days before they take effect, except where immediate changes are required for legal or security reasons. Continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
